ONCE YOUR APPLICATION IS ACCEPTED, YOU MUST:

*There is no fee to register with USA hockey as a volunteer.

2. COMPLETE A BACKGROUND CHECK

Background checks are good for 2 years. There is a fee for background check. If you need a background check, you can turn in your background check receipt to the Treasurer for reimbursement. If you are not due for one, you will not be reimbursed.

KEY SCREENING DETAILS
For members who were last screened through their Affiliate after April 1, 2019, for the 2019-20 season, their screens will be valid for the 2020-21 season, and will not need to be screened under the new system until prior to the 2021-22 season. If a member’s most recent screen is from prior to April 1, 2019, the member, if in a position that requires a background screen, will need to be screened under the new system in order to participate in the upcoming 2020-21 season.  

All new screens submitted through the new NCSI national screening program after April 1, 2020, will be valid for two seasons. For example, a screen submitted and approved on April 15, 2020, will be valid through the end of the 2021-22 season, which is August 31, 2022.

3. COMPLETE SAFESPORT

The SafeSport Training and Refresher Training are each valid for one (1) season beginning on 4/1/20.

*EQUIPMENT

Team jerseys will be handed out to managers by the equipment committee. If you have any jersey issues, or SAHA goalie equipment issues, please contact our equipment committee.

SQ-Bantams, socks are included with jerseys this year. 

*JOHN HACK MEETING ROOM/DRYLAND

Coaches or Managers can reserve the meeting room or dryland  by contacting SIA office or Jamie Crimmins

*KEITH GILBERTSON MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT

The Gilby is a senior hockey tournament held in March/April at SAHA. Proceeds from this tournament go right to SAHA, which in turn helps ALL SAHA members. Each team is asked to make a $100 donation towards the KGT silent auction/raffle. The donation can be cash or something with $100 value.   

*Concessions

There is a "Concessions" page on the website with more info for volunteers! Concession workers must be at least 15 years old.

SAHA will only sign off on senior project volunteer hours when a student works concession when SAHA needs the help, not when they cover a shift for a family that is signed up. Please contact Jamie if you would like to be on the list for volunteer concession shifts during certain SHS games at SAHA, certain tournament weekends, or uncovered shifts.

*cell phone policy

SAHA follows USA Hockey's policy that cell phones and other mobile devices with recording capabilities, including voice recording, still cameras and video cameras, are not permitted to be used in the locker rooms. If phones or other mobile devices must be used, they should be taken outside of the locker room. [it may be permissible to have team manager, or locker room monitor collect phones]
 
The following are the consequences for using a cell phone, camera, or other recording device in a locker room:
1st offense: 1 game suspension
2nd offense: 3 game suspension
3rd offense: suspended for the rest of the season

All D11 games must be uploaded on GameSheet within 24 hours (Rule #4).  There will be zero tolerance for late reporting.

Any fines incurred for games not uploaded will be the responsibility of the home team.

The iPad for D11 scoring can be checked out of the concession. A drivers license will be held and returned when iPad is returned.
