New Scoreboard Donated

A new Daktronic's scoreboard and controller was generously donated by Holden Insurance in November, 2007.  This main scoreboard is located on the south end of the arena.   The new scoreboard controller is easier to operate and the LED lighting system should require far less maintenance than the original incandescent scoreboard donated by Holden's in 1989.   Many thanks to Holden Insurance for this much needed upgrade.

New Automated External Defibrillator (AED) donated

A new Zoll Automated External Defribrillator (AED) was gratefully donated by the Duluth SMDC Heart Center in October 2007.   This AED unit is equipped for treating adult and pediatric patients (over the age of 8 or more than 55 lbs).  A CPR rescue kit is also included (CPR barrier mask, scissor, etc.).

Ventricular fibrillation (VF) is a chaotic heart rhythm where the heart muscle begins quivering which prevents the heart from effectively pumping blood.  If this condition is not corrected immediately; death will follow within 5 to 10 minutes.  AEDs are sophisticated enough to know if a patient's condition warrants a shock or not.  Voice commands prompt the user every step of the way.
